My name is Nicole Lord I am 21 years of age and currently a
student studying fine art at central college Nottingham.
My main area of specialism is sculptural artwork, mostly
working with conceptual ideas. My themes are often based on class structure and
values. Such as my last piece was based on working class family holidays.
I commonly use ceramics and mould making to create my work
and make replicas of low-value ‘tacky’ objects. This helps me to explore ideas
of value, class, and visual trickery. My main inspirations are Jeff Koons , who
creates art based on value and Grayson Perry who works very strongly with
class. I wish to develop my practice further by thinking more deeply into these
subjects and explore more aspects of them.
